Wonderful wineries for weddings in Rheinhessen

Rheinhessen is rich in amazing wineries that double as wedding locations. This comprehensive guide helps you to choose your perfect location.

Finally the big day has come. You are getting married! Preparing a wedding is quiet a demanding task and it takes a lot of preparation. As so often in life, its all in the details: the menu, the dress code and … the location! Every couple is different and deserves a location that mirrors their individuality. The location should have a unique look and feel that reinforces the character of you and your partner.

Fortunately, Rheinhessen is home to several romantic wineries that are suitable for a fabulous wedding location. Since viticulture is strongly rooted in the Rheinhessen tradition, wineries provide a down-to-earth setting with just the right amount of festivity. Today, we look at some great wedding locations in our Great Wine Capital of Mainz.

Weingut Wasem: From monastery to winery

The Wasem winery near Ingelheim is one of our all-around favourite locations. The winery is located in an 18th century monastery that has been restored with great care to its former glory. The building now combines rustic medieval charm with elegant and contemporary architecture. The location features a number of different settings from indoor to outdoor and classic to modern. The Wasem brothers Julius and Philipp produce excellent wines including sparkling ones and are also very kind hosts. Only a short walk from the Wasem winery lies the medieval church of Ingelheim. It provides the perfect location for a traditional marriage ceremony.

Das Nack restaurant: feel like a royal for one day

The restaurant “Das Nack” in Gau-Bischofsheim is a insider tip for exquisite cuisine. Its focus on local ingredients, creative recipes and a rich selection of Rheinhessian wines make it a natural choice for locals and visitors alike. However, “Das Nack” is not only an excellent restaurant, but has many other features that make it a prime location for weddings as well.

The restaurant is located inside a 200-year-old house in the historic centre and built in a romantic half-timbered style. Its spacious interior can accommodate groups up to 100 persons. However, its party piece is a magnificent rococo-style ballroom with chandeliers and a lavishly decorated ceiling. If you want to add an aristocratic touch to your wedding and want to feel like a royal for one day, then “Das Nack” is your location.

Weingut Domhof: The all-in-one wedding location

Some locations just have it all … great cuisine, romantic setting, spacious rooms and beautiful gardens. Weingut Domhof is one of them. The estate is located in Guntersblum and well equipped to handle both large and small wedding parties. Groups up to 100 persons are welcome and can expect to spend carefree hours at Domhof. Not only can you celebrate your wedding there, you can get married right there, too! The estate also features its very own registry office and is fully authorized to perform marriage ceremonies right at the location. One of its unique attractions are its extensive baroque-style gardens that surround the estate. In the summertime, they provide a lush green surrounding that is stimulating during the day and romantic at night. If you are looking for an all-in-one winery wedding location, Domhof is your first choice.

Wasem, Domhof and Nack all share one thing in common: The down-to-earth and cordial vibe that is so essential to Rheinhessen’s wine culture. No matter wheather you are looking for a modern, classic or romantic location, Rheinhessen’s wineries have a lot to offer.
