Seiterre – not just wine but emotions representing the identity of a territory

A sensory journey where wines meet local products through emotional tasting sessions.

Five generations of the Rizzi family have been carrying on the name “Seiterre Viticoltori since 1877”. Seiterre because there are in fact ‘six’ ‘lands’ dedicated to the production of wine where the company cultivates its grapes for its oenological projects: in the province of Verona in Valpolicella and Lake Garda; in Lombardy in the Lugana area; in Piedmont in Monferrato; in Tuscany in the Maremma; in Friuli Venezia Giulia in the Prosecco area and in the TrentoDoc production area in Trentino, where the adventure of the Rizzi family began in the 19th century.

Seiterre

Nowadays, at the headquarters in Salionze of Valeggio sul Mincio (Verona), the fourth generation, Luigino Rizzi flanked by his wife Sandra, maintains the link with the long history of passion for wine-growing, while the fifth generation, with Anna and Roberto, are bringing a fresh imprint with an innovative spirit, while remaining faithful to the traditions and expanding the offer of hospitality.

Seiterre

SQNPI certified, in the Seiterre vineyards, respect for the land passes through the adoption of various systems in the vineyards, such as the abolition of herbicides and the intelligent use of irrigation or the sowing of green manure, the use of clean energy from the sun with the photovoltaic system, involving employees and suppliers of packaging, certified recycled cardboard packaging and plastic-free shipping.

Seiterre

SEITERRE, however, is not just wine. Over the years, the winery has in fact also become synonymous with agricultural products such as rice, flour, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, spirits and then also honey and cereals for the production of the 14 farmhouse beers by the brewery adjacent to the winery.

This versatility has given rise to interesting and unique combinations such as the IGA (Italian Grape Ales) beers processed with musts such as Turbiana, or the recipes for risotto dishes that are offered for tasting in the estate’s Risotteria. The risottos are prepared by the chef with rice cultivated by the Rizzi family, on suitable soils, reserving the necessary care to obtain a product suitable for risottos of excellence.

In this sensory journey, rice meets wine several times, not only on the plate and in the accompanying glass, but also in the location, since the Risotteria has a direct view of the wine cellar, which can be observed from above through large windows, terraces and walkways.
