A red tram to the heart of Mendoza’s wine tourism

In Mendoza, the sun shines almost every day of the year and wine is always one step away. Visitors can use the public red tram to visit one of the most traditional wineries in Mendoza, the López family winery. They offer a variety of tours to delve into the wine tourism spirit of Mendoza, with costs that start as low as 5 dollars.

Metrotranvía is a public transport service used daily by thousands of residents of Mendoza to move around between the departments of Las Heras and Maipú, passing through Mendoza city center. Thanks to the strategic location of López Winery in Maipú, visitors can get there in just 30 minutes paying very little.

Get off at the last station of the line towards Maipú. It is called “Gutiérrez” and it is located just 300 meters away from the winery. The Maipú department is the birthplace of wine and olive oil in Mendoza.  López Winery is a centenary establishment that has been operating since 1898 with the sustained work of 4 generations of the López Family, which over the decades established the well-known “López Style”.

Their promise is to “discover the origin of the classics of the Argentine table”, with tours and tastings to learn about the winery, the sparkling wine production, review its history and the different ways of harvesting, producing and much more.

Among the experiences, the Gran Reserva and the Alta Gama tour stand out. These tours unveil the entire process of making wine with the guidance of a sommelier.

Another original alternative is the “Blend Experience”, which proposes experimenting with four varietal wines and taking home your own signature creation, or the “Vertical tasting of Montchenot” with lunch, a luxury tasting of the distinguished harvests of the Montchenot label.

The winery also offers lunch at their signature restaurant, “Rincón López”, a bright space with large terraces, which offer a panoramic view of the Andes Mountains, the winery and its gardens. It presents a gourmet à la carte menu accompanied by the winery’s wines.

It is worth noting that the tours are available in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

Without a doubt, this is an excellent opportunity to discover the world of Mendoza wine in a simple way at a place that combines past and present and offers to write the future together.
