The Sélection des Vins Vaudois is an important event in the wine calendar of French-speaking Switzerland, and a tribute to the exceptional wines produced in the Vaud region. Over 718 (!) white, red, rosé, sparkling and sweet Vaud wines were tasted by a panel of 68 tasters on May 23 and 24. No fewer than 67 gold and 150 silver medals were awarded.
Wine lovers, guests and industry professionals attended the awards ceremony, during which 35 wines were honored. The Trophée Master (best wine of the competition with a score of 92.4 points) was awarded to the Sauvignon blanc “Soliste” 2022 from Artisans Vignerons d’Ollon. The Trophée BioVaud (best organic wine of the competition) was won for the second year running by Cave de la Côte’s Péteux Cuvée des Pèdzes, 2022, a brut rosé sparkling wine. Michel Rochat, President of the Office des Vins Vaudois, congratulates the winemakers on their outstanding work throughout the year. He says with admiration : “The producers deserve our most sincere congratulations for their remarkable work. These wines take us to the heart of the canton’s grandiose landscapes, reflecting the pure essence of our terroir”.
During the ceremony, State Councillor Valérie Dittli presented the insignia of Commandeur des Vins Vaudois to Mathieu Jaton, Director of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Each year, this distinction is awarded to a well-known figure for his or her role in promoting Vaud wines.
