Domestic and international customer preferences in wine and wine tourism experiences are changing rapidly. Meanwhile, the South Australian wine industry needs to be able to quickly identify and respond to new and emerging demands and expectations to keep customers engaged, and to stay ahead of the game.
This 6-day executive business program is a new educational offering from Great Wine Capitals Adelaide, South Australia, and has been carefully designed by Adelaide Business School‘s wine business and tourism world-class experts.
The program will equip participants with best practice knowledge to:
- develop or strengthen an entrepreneurial mindset
- build brand reputation
- design effective digital communication strategies
- identify appropriate distribution channels
- learn how to best negotiate with channel partners
- develop engaging cellar door and tourism experiences
- optimise the use of available resources.
On completion, participants will be better positioned to handle the growing complexities of the industry, achieve more with fewer resources, build leadership and personal capabilities, improve their organisation’s performance, and successfully combine evidence-based data and creative ideas for business success.
Eligibility
The program has been developed for early to mid career wine professionals who are ready to build their capacity and upskill into more senior roles. It is also aimed at talented people from other fields who have transferable skills and are interested in moving into the exciting wine business and tourism sector.
The program is relevant to current or prospective:
- brand managers
- marketing managers
- cellar door managers
- direct-to-consumer managers
- tourism business owners
- general managers in wine and tourism businesses, and producer associations.
The program content draws on the local contributions of key wine and wine tourism industry stakeholders such as the Department of Primary Industries and Regions, SA Tourism Commission, SA Wine Industry Association and regional bodies. It also harnesses the knowledge and expertise of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, especially through the Best Of Wine Tourism Award winner alumni.

The Great Wine Capitals Adelaide, South Australia chapter is offering up to 12 scholarship places in the program for outstanding candidates from South Australia. In your application you will be asked whether you are interested in finding out more about the paid placements.
When applying, you will be required to upload your CV and also answer these questions (answers must less than 1300 characters including spaces):
