Marqués de Riscal Voted World’s Best Vineyard 2024

Rioja wineries have once again proven their global standing, with Marqués de Riscal securing the coveted top spot in the World’s Best Vineyards 2024. Rioja’s dominance is further highlighted by the presence of Ysios in the top 5, securing the fourth position. This remarkable achievement underscores the region’s exceptional winemaking prowess and its ability to consistently produce world-class wines and wine tourism experiences.

World’s Best Vineyards announced the 2024 top 50 list at a ceremony held on November 4 at Nyetimber Estate in West Sussex (UK).

Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal took the number 1 spot.  The winery was number two on the list in 2023.

Rioja has two vineyards in the top ten (Marqués de Riscal e Ysios (at #4).  They are joined in the Top 50 by Muga (#23), Marqués de Murrieta (#30) and Bodegas Vivanco (#31). Bodegas La Rioja Alta is on the list of the Top 100 at #61.

With six wineries in the Top 100, Rioja has consolidated its position as the world’s leading wine tourism destination, with over 880,000 visitors to the 200+ vineyards open to the public in 2023.  Rioja is on track to reach its strategic goal of 1,2 million visitors in 2025.

The Riojan winners on the Top 50 list have all won ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ awards from the Great Wine Capitals Global Network:
