The Ernst Bretz winery, run by the ninth generation, offers guided tours in addition to wine tastings, which can take place in the modern vinotheque, the patio with a Tuscan flair or the cross vault stable – a piece of architecture specific for the region and also charmingly called “cow chapel” in the vernacular. During the guided tours guests get to know all the steps of wine production. Various prizes (e.g. “Winegrower of the Year 2013”) have already been awarded to the winery.
From the estate’s vineyard on the Petersberg (a popular hill) you can see down to Rheinhessen and the skyline of Frankfurt. A wine bar is to be built at the foot of the hill. Nevertheless, the winery already offers a very committed and professional service regarding wine, which the jury rewards with a Best Of Wine Tourism Award 2020.
