Spier has been a place where the past is honoured, and the future is embraced with equal passion. Where the land is nurtured, craft award-winning wines, champion South African art and grow wholesome food. It’s about being hands-on in every aspect of our business, from our vineyards to our community.
Inspired by creativity and craft – both old and new – we’ve meticulously restored the farm’s beautiful Cape Dutch buildings. Inside these as well as across our grounds and in the Spier Hotel, you’ll find artworks from the Spier Art Collection – one of the largest collections of contemporary works in the country. This is just one of the many ways Spier supports South Africa’s arts community.
OUR FARM: ONE BIG, LIVING GALLERY
Guided by Dick Enthoven’s vision, the Spier Arts Trust has become the lifeblood of art at Spier. Believing in the transformative power of art, deeming artists as the cultural torchbearers.
Today, the Spier Arts Trust helps to find and fund South African talent from Port Elizabeth to Polokwane, nurturing emerging South African artists through projects like Creative Block.
