In 1998, Kingston Family Vineyards pioneered the cultivation of red-wine grapes in the Casablanca Valley. By 2005, the vineyard had established its own winery, and fourteen years later, the addition of a tasting salon and guest house transformed the vineyard into a true Citadel of Wine, with independent structures thoughtfully connected by scenic pathways.
From the beginning, Kingston’s winemaking philosophy has centered on creating wines that authentically reflect and respect the local terroir. This commitment extends to our architecture, with buildings designed to enhance the breathtaking views of the surrounding valley.
All three buildings were designed by the Chilean architect Juan Carlos Sabbagh. The original winery building was built in 2005, and the tasting salon and guest house completed in 2019. Each structure boasts an avant-garde and modern design that harmonizes with the natural landscape and showcases the surrounding beauty while minimizing environmental impact. The interiors were designed by Trinidad Fernandez of TFC Diseño, with landscape architecture by Magdalena Sabbagh Cruz and sculptures by Mauricio Guajardo Rubio.
The winery building was envisioned following Sabbagh’s visit to Oregon, where he studied the region’s Pinot Noir wineries. The design employs gravitational force to facilitate the winemaking process, allowing grapes to move between levels without the need for pumps or machinery. Deliberately positioned on the southeastern slope of a hillside, the building leverages elevation to respect the grape, provide stunning views of the vineyards, and all the while seamlessly integrate into the landscape. Its eco-friendly architecture ensures efficient temperature regulation: the space remains naturally cool throughout most of the year.
Our tasting room spans 410 square meters and accommodates 140 guests indoors and 70 outdoors. With expansive sliding glass doors, the design invites the stunning outdoors inside, allowing visitors to appreciate the picturesque surroundings and full view of the vineyard. This versatile space also serves as an exceptional venue for events.
Perched further up the hillside, our guest house echoes the same modern, avant-garde design and is strategically positioned to maximize the views. It accommodates up to ten guests across four bedrooms, each with private bathrooms, and features a communal kitchen, living room, and dining area.
