Charles Krug Winery is Napa Valley’s original and oldest winery (1861) and retains the distinction of being family owned and operated by the Mondavi family, now 5th Generation. Continuing in their rich family heritage, the Mondavis are still farmers as well as winemakers, innovators, and care deeply about their place in Wine Country history.
The magnificent, National Historic buildings of Charles Krug include the Redwood Cellar, built in 1861 and the Carriage House (1881).
Charles Krug aspires to be the “Cultural Hub of Napa Valley” and they do so through their deep support of food, wine, and the arts. As Napa Valley reopened in 2021, they were home to the Blue Note Napa (Jazz), Festival Napa Valley (Classical, Opera, Ballet), Music in the Vineyards (Classical), Cochon 555/Heritage Fire (Culinary Arts), Charles Krug Comedy shows (Comedy), Napa Valley Film Festival and Cameo Theater Drive In Movies (Film arts), and more are planned in 2022 and beyond.
