Awarded as the Best Wine Tourism Experience of the Wine Routes of Spain 2020, the visit is a tour inspired by the Beber Between Lines project, a fusion of wine and literature cultures. It offers the visitor an unforgettable experience when discovering our renovated outdoor spaces next to the vineyard designed after an international competition with the UNESCO Chair of Cultural Landscapes and Heritage; or strolling through the unique spaces of the winery recovered for a visit that concludes with a wine in the monumental artistic intervention of the Espacio Medio Millón. A place converted into a Cathedral of Wine by the renowned Australian muralist Guido van Helten.
Bodegas Solar de Samaniego was born in 1972 at the foot of the medieval town of Laguardia, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, protected under the D.O.Ca. Rioja. The family thus recovered its Riojan roots with the desire to unite the history and tradition of a land where wine is the protagonist.
Over the last decades it has established itself as one of the main quality wineries in this area. Since 2018 the winery has collaborated with the UNESCO Chair of Cultural Landscapes and Heritage in the integration of the winery into the Laguardia landscape, it has created a unique and singular wine tourism experience thanks to the recovery of the Medio Millón Space with the murals by Guido Van Helten as well as inside the store / library, in the Cofradía dining room and the farm library, all inspired by the Beber Between Lines that, of course, is born from the vineyards with which the Solar de Samaniego wines in Rioja.
