The Bodegas Roda Sustainability project is a milestone in the wine industry. Walking through harmonius indoor and outdoor spaces, like the barrel room and the terraces overlooking the Ebro river, the visitor will discover how this winery gets energy balance.
The underground cellar makes use of the geothermal energy. The Canadian pipes perforated in its walls regulate the temperature taking advantage of the difference in weight of cold air and hot air. Besides, an underfloor heating system and windows to the north regulate the temperature of the malolactic fermentation room
In addition to this, vacuum tubes, which have very little visual impact on the building’s roof, produce high temperature hot water (70 ° C). This hot water supplies the needs of the entire production and heating circuit of the winery. On the other hand, an absorption system gets cold water (7º C), allowing to cool the tanks, the barrel and the winery rooms.
