The Caves du Château d’Auvernier: a legacy of winemaking since 1603

On the scenic shores of Lake Neuchâtel, the Caves du Château d'Auvernier has been family-run since 1603, embodying over 400 years of Swiss winemaking. Today, under the guidance of Henry Aloys Grosjean, the 15th generation who succeeded his father Thierry Grosjean in January 2022, the estate continues its rich heritage.

With 43 hectares of estate-grown vines and 17 hectares sourced from longtime partner growers, Château d’Auvernier thrives on its Burgundy-like terroir. Though slightly higher in altitude, the lake’s moderating influence creates an ideal climate for its high-quality wines.

The Château invites guests to experience its history firsthand, offering tastings and tours of its 15th-century cellars—a true journey into the legacy and charm of Swiss viticulture.
