The family’s luxury wine portfolio, led by Winemaker Megan Gunderson, sources fruit from some of the most prominent vineyards up and down the West Coast and includes twelve Estate vineyards.
HALL produces 19 Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings each year that include single-vineyard wines, appellation-based wines, and proprietary blends that celebrate the distinct differences in the terroir and sub-appellations in the Napa Valley. Sourcing grapes from thirteen of the sixteen Napa sub-appellations, the portfolio includes appellation designates from Diamond Mountain, Mount Veeder, Stag’s Leap, Rutherford, Howell Mountain, and St. Helena.
The Hall St. Helena Visitor’s Center is located at the epicenter of Napa Valley on Highway 29 and celebrates the historic Bergfeld Building (circa 1885) amongst the vineyards. The HALL St. Helena winery was the first LEED® Gold Certified Winery in the state of California in 2009 and earned another LEED® Gold certification for its high-tech production facility and Tasting Room in 2014.
The Art of Wine
Avid lifelong art collectors, Craig and Kathryn Hall invite guests to enjoy both expressive art and world-class wines and have over 75 pieces of contemporary art at both HALL St. Helena and HALL Rutherford.
HALL St. Helena is instantly recognizable by its signature piece of art, Bunny Foo Foo, an iconic 35-foot stainless steel rabbit leaping out of the vineyard at the entrance on Hwy 29. The property features artworks by internationally acclaimed artists like John Baldessari, Jim Campbell, Nick Cave, Jaume Plensa, and Joel Shapiro, which guests can enjoy as they taste. Guests can learn about the pieces and the background of the artists via the Hall Wines St. Helena Tour app.
In addition to the visual arts, Craig and Kathryn Hall continue to support the arts in a myriad of ways. Since its inception in 2006, HALL Family Wines was a founding supporter of Festival Napa Valley – an annual classical music festival each summer that raises money to support the promotion of arts and music throughout the Napa Valley. The winery serves as an annual host location and Kathryn has served as Board Member for many years. HALL Family Wines has also been enthusiastic supporters of the San Francisco Opera, Cal Performances, the Dallas Summer Musicals, Live in the Vineyard and have hosted performances by the Dallas Symphony and the Vienna Boys Choir.
Guests and members of HALL Family Wines can also bring art home with them. Many of the labels from HALL’s most prized bottles of wine incorporate artwork from their collection, including pieces from Gerhard Richter, Nicholas Moser, Phillip Taafe and Pat Steir.
