For more than twenty-five years, Ignacio and Carlos Echapresto have delighted lovers of fine dining at their Venta Moncalvillo with seasonal cuisine based on locally and regionally sourced products. The restaurant recently earned a second star from the Guide Michelin attesting to the care and attention that chef Ignacio and sommelier Carlos provide their customers.
The Echaprestos offer an additional service to local and regional customers – a catering business where the cuisine created at Venta Moncalvillo is served at the customer’s winery or offices.
The idea of taking a Michelin-starred restaurant’s cuisine to customers earned Echapresto Eventos a 2023 Best Of Wine Tourism award for Wine Tourism Services from the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

Echapresto Eventos offers two alternatives to its customers: preparing dishes in a portable kitchen or bringing the prepared dishes from the restaurant’s kitchen. The customer provides the venue and Venta Moncalvillo, the cuisine.
For wineries, the usual spot is the ageing cellars, with tables filling the space between rows of oak barrels, or outside in the garden.
Some venues are striking, such as the meal served in the Logroño bullring for the Institute of Masters of Wine.
To date, over fifty Rioja wineries, the previously mentioned IMW, the Haro Station Wine Experience and the Rioja Regulatory Council have enjoyed the cuisine from the Venta Moncalvillo.
In addition, Echapresto Eventos offers show cooking classes given by Ignacio, wine tastings by sommelier Carlos and product presentations.
