As a maintainer of two historical grape varieties, the family-run winery H.L. Menger promotes agro-biodiversity and biological diversity in the vineyards. In their cross vault chamber, which is typical for Rhine-Hessian architecture and which serves as a tasting room, guests are invited to test these wines. The jury judged this commitment to be deserving of a Best Of Wine Tourism Award 2020.
In addition, the topic of sustainable hunting plays a special role in the winery: As a hunter as well as a winegrower, the owner of the winery, Horst Menger, also offers guided tours around the hunting ground. Numerous events revolve around the enjoyment of wine and game: from the seminar on game meat processing to local herbology by Dagmar Rückrich-Menger.
