World’s Best Vineyards announced the 2024 top 50 list at a ceremony held on November 4 at Nyetimber Estate in West Sussex (UK).
Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal took the number 1 spot. The winery was number two on the list in 2023.
Rioja has two vineyards in the top ten (Marqués de Riscal e Ysios (at #4). They are joined in the Top 50 by Muga (#23), Marqués de Murrieta (#30) and Bodegas Vivanco (#31). Bodegas La Rioja Alta is on the list of the Top 100 at #61.
With six wineries in the Top 100, Rioja has consolidated its position as the world’s leading wine tourism destination, with over 880,000 visitors to the 200+ vineyards open to the public in 2023. Rioja is on track to reach its strategic goal of 1,2 million visitors in 2025.
