The “Strada del Vino Valpolicella” – the Valpolicella Wine Route – represents a completely new initiative in which the different categories of operators work together for the enhancement of the whole territory, through the numerous typical products.
One of the objectives of the Valpolicella Wine Route is to make its members known, through promotional initiatives of various kinds, for exemple trought the organization of a varity of events that bring the tourist in to the winery and visit them.
Events in Valpolicella
The flagship event organised by the Valpolicella Wine Route is the Val Polis Cellae, held every second Sunday, immediately after the end of the grape harvest in October (this year on October 13rd). Tourists will thus have the opportunity to see the wineries at their busiest time. During this day one has the possibility to visit some of the wineries in the area, taste their wines and combine the tasting with typical dishes, as well as visit the winery itself.
Another event that is finding much success is the ByByke. This time the only means allowed to tour the area is by bicycle! So those who participate in the event of specially designed tracks to visit the wineries participating in the event and taste their wines and paired foods.
The “Strada del Vino Valpolicella” is winner of the Great Wine Capitals 2024 Best Of Wine Tourism regional award for the category Wine Tourism Services.
