Vino el Cine, is a wordplay where “vino” means at the same time came and wine in Spanish. So, the name can be interpreted as the cinema came to the wineries and at the same time, the word wine and cinema are together in the sentence.
Wine is a product related to pleasure; cinema, music, painting, are gifts for the senses. The observer manages to make a “pause” of mental silence: “here and now”, sharing that magical moment that arts propose; in this case, the combination of wine and cinema.
We remember scenes from some movies as passages from our own lives. On the other hand, we remember fragments of our lives with the intensity of some images seen on a movie screen.
These outdoor cinema sessions take place since 2011 in different wineries of Mendoza at sunset during Summer months., A real movie screen is settled outdoors, among the vineyards. The event begins glass in hand in movie sceneries. The dates generally cover the months of October, November and December. The Wineries freely choose the day of their projection, preferably on weekends.
The films are selected from catalogs, according to the theme defined for the particular year. The public is summoned at 8:00 p.m. to entertain them with guided tours, tastings, music, and a magnificent sunset in the vineyards. To finish the evening -and as a central event- guests enjoy the projection of a classic, thematic or cult film.
