As the biggest swiss wines producer, Provins is one of the leading contributors to the Valais economy. It accounts for about 18% of wine produced in Valais and 10% of wine produced in Switzerland. The estate harvests grapes from 800 hectares of vines, spread out over the Valais countryside. Of all wineries in Switzerland, Provins has won the most awards in national and international wine competitions. It won the ‘Swiss Winemaker of the Year’ title on two occasions, in 2008 and 2013. These remarkable results across the entire range of wines show the top-level skills of the wine producers and the commitment of the 3,200 cooperative members who, through their precise work in the vineyards, provide high quality grapes that produce very expressive wines.
Based in Sion, Provins employs 80 staff and its annual turnover is around CHF 55 million. The estate produces 20 ranges with a total of 110 wines, covering all sectors of the market from highvolume distribution to top restaurants, right through to Private clients.
