GREAT WINE CAPITALS GLOBAL NETWORK HAS ANNOUNCED THE LAUNCH OF THE SEVENTH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM
The International Research Grant aims to promote excellence and innovativeness in wine research.
The Great Wine Capitals Global Network awards up to two grants of 4,500 euros per year for projects related to economic, environmental and social equity sustainability or wine tourism and marketing in a region belonging to the Network.
Eligible candidates are students and young researchers who have been nominated by a city in the Network.
In addition to the grant, the authors of the two winning projects are eligible to receive an additional 500 euro stipend help meet travel and lodging expenses for presenting their projects to the next annual general meeting of the Network.
The 2014 winners of the grants are Tobias Danielmeir from the Victoria University of Wellington in Christchurch | South Island (New-Zealand), whose paper is titled “ The value of winery architecture for wine tourism experiences and regional marketing" and Adela Balderas from Bilbao | Rioja, whose topic is “Positioning tourism destinations: wine as a competitive factor of territory”.
The two awarded projects were selected from 12 academic research projects in the fields of wine marketing and wine tourism from the ten Great Wine Capitals member cities which were evaluated by a jury made up of the Education and Research Committee of the Network.
The 2014-2015 edition of the grant is lauched. Applications must be sent by September, 15th, 2014.
