GREAT WINE CAPITALS GLOBAL NETWORK HAS ANNOUNCED THE LAUNCH OF THE SIXTH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM
The International Research Grant aims to promote excellence and innovativeness in wine research.
The Great Wine Capitals Global Network awards two grants of 4,500 euros per year for projects related to economic, environmental and social equity sustainability or wine tourism and marketing in a region belonging to the Network.
Eligible candidates are students and young researchers who have been nominated by a city in the Network.
In addition to the grant, the authors of the two winning projects are eligible to receive an additional 500 euro stipend help meet travel and lodging expenses for presenting their projects to the next annual general meeting of the Network.
The 2013 winners of the grants are Chiara Certomà from the Sant'anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, whose paper is titled “Wine experiences. Social mapping wine tourism" and Valentina Raffaelli from Argentina, whose topic is “The application of "Service Design" in wine tourism destinations: customer experience in Mendoza's wine tourism products”.
The two awarded projects were selected from 12 academic research projects in the fields of wine marketing and wine tourism from the ten Great Wine Capitals member cities which were evaluated by a jury made up of the Education and Research Committee of the Network.
The 2013-2014 edition of the grant is lauched. Applications must be sent by August, 31st, 2013.
